ADDITIONAL RETIREMENT CREDIT (ARC)
This calculator will estimate the cost to purchase up to five years of Additional Retirement Credit. The maximum purchase of ARC is a total of five years under any plan or combination of plans.The ARC calculator will show you the lump-sum cost, monthly payments, payment periods, and the projected increase in your retirement allowance.
ARC adds to your total retirement service credit for purposes of calculating your retirement allowance only. ARC does not count toward meeting the minimum service requirements to retire, 30-year cancellation of contributions, or the County contribution toward your LACERA-administered retiree health care.
Active employees
in Plan A, B, C, D or E who have at least five years of actual
county service credit are eligible to purchase
ARC. Reciprocal service and purchased temporary time are not
included.
ATTENTION PLAN E MEMBERS: The cost of ARC is greatly reduced after 35 years of service. If you currently have 30 or more years of service credit, it may be advantageous for you to delay purchasing Plan E ARC until you reach 35 years of service.
