  1. Q: What is Safe2Login?

    A: Safe2Login is a security safeguard on My LACERA designed to protect your private retirement information.(9-2-08)

  2. Q: Do I have to register on both Safe2Login and My LACERA?

    A: Yes. The first time you use Safe2Login and My LACERA you must register on each. Thereafter, whenever you visit My LACERA, Safe2Login will recognize you and your computer based on the SafeCode you created during registration. Recognition by Safe2Login will allow you to sign in to your My LACERA account. (3-10-10)

  3. Q: What’s a “SafeCode”?

    A: A SafeCode is a 6-12 letter word you create during the Safe2Login registration process. Clicking on your SafeCode allows you to sign in to your My LACERA account. (3-10-10)

  4. Q: What is the purpose of Safe2Login?

    A: To protect your private member information with an additional layer of web security, Safe2Login allows registered users to verify they are connecting to LACERA’s official web site, and also allows us to reconfirm the user’s identity. (3-10-10)

  5. Q: What other online security measures does LACERA have in place?

    A: Your private information is protected online by our authorization process, firewalls, and encrypted coding for both sending and receiving information. In addition to the Safe2Login and Entrust Secure Server systems, we also undergo routine security audits by a professional third-party security firm. (9-2-08)

  6. Q: What happens if I forget my Safe2Login password?

    A: Upon request, Safe2Login will email you a temporary password you can use to sign in for a single session. Once you’re back in the system, you will have to reset your password. (9-2-08)

  7. Q: What if I need help with the Safe2Login process?

    A: Call LACERA at 1-800-786-6464; a knowledgeable Retirement Benefits Specialist will assist you with the process. (9-2-08)

  8. Q: What’s an Activation Code?

    A: This is the code you are emailed when you register on Safe2Login for the first time. It’s like a PIN number. You’ll use the code to complete the one-time registration process.
    NOTE: If you lose this email, we can re-send it to you. (9-2-08)

  9. Q: After I register, how do I sign in to My LACERA?

    A: Simply click your SafeCode on the Safe2Login Safety Stamp, then sign in to My LACERA. (9-2-08)

  10. Q: What do those colored lights mean on the Safe2Login Safety Stamp?

    A: Green means go! You can sign in to My LACERA with confidence. All three Safe2Login indicator lights must be green for your connection to be secure: Server, Session and Computer. Yellow or red lights mean STOP! If red or yellow lights appear, follow the prompts or call LACERA at 1-800-786-6464 for assistance. (9-2-08)

  11. Q: What if I get locked out of my Safe2Login account?

    A: Three failed attempts to sign in with the wrong SafeCode will result in your account being locked. If this happens, Safe2Login will automatically email you a special reactivation code. Signing back in is simple: go into My LACERA, click on the Safe2Login Safety Stamp, and enter your reactivation Code. (9-2-08)
